The Magician, tools for life.

Tarot Blog! by InspireTarot on Sunday March 14th '10, 3:46 pm

Copy Right PHOENIX TAROT by Paola Angelotti www.78cards.comThe Magus or Magician is a very interesting card in the Tarot.  The Magus represents a universal principal (as do most of the archetypes in the Major Arcana)  It is the second card in the order of precession starting with the Fool.  The relationship of the Fool to the Magician is a very universal formula.  The Fool, in all cases represents the raw energies of the universe and the potential within us.  It is the wonderment the amazement that comes to us in sudden flashes of vision.  Although the Magus represents the application of Genius the Fool represents its inception.  the spark necessary.  If the Magus is the word then the Fool is the Voice. This energy in its rawest form is also what permeates the entire universe.  The Magus or Magician is the focusing of this energy into a singular stream of activity.  As you can see from the card that represent the Magus all of his tools are present.  This is important because the Magician represents action.  The action that we take.  Not just moments of vision, but the actions we take in our lives period.  All action has one focus.  The perpetuation of our spiritual evolution.  Everything from drinking water to typing on a computer.  All action is a singular movement towards our individual destiny.

It is the very first card that shows any organization and in all intents the Magician is just that.  A picture of an extremely organized order of potential events.  A unified singular force.  The number 1 is associated with this card for a number of very good reasons. No matter what we are trying to accomplish it is our Will, our drive to progress, that makes it all possible.  We have to have the tools to express this.   How can this work for us in a practical way?   I have copy of the Magus hanging in my office for a very specific reason.  The Magus realizes that this action in his responsibility.  That having the tools in order to act with purpose is our individual accountability. To facilitate the actions we need to take it may mean going to college, buying computers, paying for a place to live, eating the right food and drinking enough water, living in the right area.  Gauging your desired result and building a portfolio of tools that allows you to express your art and perfect your mind is the number one goal of the actions we take to have a fulfilling existence.
